  • Continental Fire & Safety returning with Andy Belmont:  A sponsorship that goes back almost a dozen years will have Continental Fire & Safety returning as a sponsor with Andy Belmont Racing for the 2010 season. The Trenton, NJ based company provides proper safety products from fire trucks to pumps to ladders, fire extinguishers, hoses, apparel, first aid equipment and other apparatus.   • Peterson Motorsports returning full time in 2010:  Peterson Motorsports is currently looking for funded drivers to run in select races or the full season in both of its cars.  Butch Jarvis will drive the No. 0 entry at Daytona, while Barry Fitzgerald and other drivers are working on a sponsorship package for the No. 06.   • Win-Tron Racing signs Justin Marks with intent to run full season:  Officials from Win-Tron Racing announced today that Justin Marks will return to the ARCA Racing Series behind the wheel of the No. 32 Construct Corps entry in 2010. "I'm very excited about this opportunity with Win-Tron Racing for 2010," said Marks.  "It's our intent to run the full-season together and with hopefully a couple wins and some strong performances -- we'll be able to keep our partnership going towards a championship effort."   • Anti-Monkey Butt Powder re-ups with Darrell Basham Racing:  Darrell Basham announced on RaceTalkRadio that Anti-Monkey Butt Powder has resigned with Darrell Basham Racing. Basham also mentioned that he is considering splitting the No. 34 with Jason Basham for the 2010 season. (12-18-09)
  • Bobby Gerhart resigns Lucas Oil for 10 races:  Bobby Gerhart Racing announced today that it has re-signed with Lucas Oil for the 2010 ARCA Racing Series season.  "The 2010 season marks our seventh consecutive season with Lucas Oil," said Gerhart. "We're very proud of our association with Lucas Oil, a company whose longstanding race heritage speaks for itself. We feel like we've given them a good home."  Currently, the contract calls for a 10-race package in 2010 to include all the ARCA Racing Series events aired on SPEED. ( (12-16-09)
  • Leilani Munter testing with Mark Gibson Racing: Leilani Münter joins a growing list of female drivers who will be participating in this weekend's ARCA Racing Series open test at Daytona Int'l Speedway. Munter will be testing the #59 NextEra Energy Resources Dodge for Mark Gibson Racing . Munter hopes to expand her partnership with MGR to include at least 10 ARCA Racing Series events in 2010 starting with the season-opening Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 at Daytona on February 6.   • Sheltra Motorsports partners with CAM2:  Officials from Sheltra Motorsports, LLC and CAM2 International, LLC announced at the Performance Racing Industry trade show in Orlando, Florida that the two organizations will pair-up for the 2010 racing season, which will consist of the ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards and the NASCAR Nationwide Series. CAM2 motor oil was introduced in 1975 by the Sun Refining and Marketing Co. ( (12-16-09)
  • Brad Smith resigns will renew and expand its primary sponsorship of the Brad Smith Motorsports team for 2010 in the ARCA Racing Series.  Jim Allen, CEO and founder of, says the race team will be more polished and competitive in 2010 as a result of a new short-track car, strong intermediate track cars, and a respectable superspeedway restrictor-plate car. Roush-Yates powerplants will be added to the intermediate track cars and a professional toterhome-trailer unit is being purchased.  The /Brad Smith Motorsports team plans to participate in the full ARCA Racing Series schedule in 2010.   • Danica Patrick to compete at Daytona: Danica [Patrick] will drive the No. 7 Chevrolet in a partial Nationwide schedule next season, plus one ARCA race. The Go Daddy Girl will be racing as a member of the JR Motorsports team owned by Dale Earnhardt, Jr., Rick Hendrick, Kelley Earnhardt and Tony Eury, Jr. through 2011. ( (12-09-09)
  • ARCA adds Menards as second presenting sponsor: Menards will join RE/MAX as presenting sponsors of the (ARCA) Racing Series in 2010. The series will be known as the ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards. "This announcement represents the culmination of well over a year of research, negotiation and evaluation of benefits and return on investment," said ARCA Vice President of Marketing and Communications Mark Gundrum. "For ARCA and Menards, we have established a very solid understanding of the opportunities and responsibilities on each side of the agreement.   • Venturni Motorsports announces 2010 plans: Venturini Motorsports has announced the team's driver line-up for 2010 including a fulltime effort from Mikey Kile, slated to drive the no. 25 car for the entire ARCA Racing Series schedule. In addition to Kile, Venturini Motorsports will be fielding a mix of Chevrolets and Toyotas for a variety of drivers in 2010. It was also announced that Alli Owens will be returning to the Venturini Motorsports stable for eight to 10 races in 2010, driving the team's second no. 15 entry.  Steve Arpin will open the season at Daytona Int'l Speedway in a third Venturini Motorsports entry with hopes of running more down the road. In addition, Venturini Motorsports announced that Jake Crum, AJ Frank and Pete Shepherd will be running in some capacity with the Concord, North Carolina-based team in 2010.   • Menards/Ansell returning to Kimmel Racing:  Ansell's announced continuation will include extending the relationship with Kimmel Racing. "On behalf of our employees worldwide, we are all very excited," said Steve York, Director of Channel Development for Ansell. "I'm proud to say that we have reached an agreement in principal with Menards and Frank Kimmel to return to the ARCA Series in 2010. Since coming on board this year, the program has become a tremendous business opportunity for us. We were able to confirm that ARCA's demographics represent the customers we are trying to reach.   • Tom Hessert returning in 2010 UPDATE Joining Cunningham:  Tom Hessert is out beating the bushes trying to keep his race career alive. So far; so good. "I've actually been able to put a deal together for next year," continued the Cherry Hill, New Jersey driver. "I should be able to make an announcement pretty soon as to the direction we're going.   • Nick Igdalsky to drive ABR No. 1:  Andy and Jennifer Belmont announced today that ModSpace will sponsor the No. 1 Ford driven by Nick Igdalsky in a bid for the championship in the ARCA Racing Series.  “We are bringing a new sponsor and a new driver to the Series,” said Belmont, who has been both an owner and driver in ARCA and NASCAR competition. “I think we have the makings of a team that can contend for the championship. This is very exciting for all of us.” ModSpace is a premier provider of modular buildings for both businesses and organizations that have temporary or permanent space needs.  Igdalsky brings an exciting new talent to the ARCA Series.   • SPEED Channel covering 10 races in 2010:  (ARCA) and SPEED have announced the 2010 SPEED TV schedule for the ARCA Racing Series. The agreement calls for a minimum of 10 events to be televised on SPEED live and/or same-day delayed.  In addition to Daytona, other events scheduled for live and/or same-day coverage in 2010 include Texas Motor Speedway on April 16, Talladega Superspeedway on April 23, both at Pocono Raceway on June 5 and July 31, Michigan Int'l Speedway on June 11, Iowa Speedway on July 10, Chicagoland Speedway on August 27, Kansas Speedway on September 30 and the finale at Rockingham Speedway on October 9.   • Bryan Silas expected to return with Fast Track: Bryan Silas is expected to return to Fast Track Racing in 2010. The team is looking for a new crew chief, as it has parted ways with Cal Boprey. (12-03-09)
  • Tim George Jr. returning full time with RCR: Richard Childress Racing has signed Tim George Jr. as a developmental driver to compete full time in the 2010 ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX. RCR will field the No. 31 Chevrolet Impala for George in the 20-race ARCA Series season, which competes at 17 different tracks. "I am honored by the opportunity to work with and learn from Richard Childress, Mike Dillon and everyone at RCR. I'm going to absorb as much as possible in 2010 from the wealth of knowledge that exists there," said George. "My No. 1 goal is to get a lot better at setting up these cars. Another season in the ARCA Series, where I have competed on most of the tracks, will make this easier to focus on. We are in the process of finding the right crew chief that will help me learn the most and I'm looking forward to testing with my new team at Daytona later this month." ( (12-02-09)
