  • Gibson Motorsports, John Gibson moving to ARCA: Gibson Motorsports announced today their intent to move their team from the USARacing Pro Cup Series to the ARCA Racing Series with driver John Gibson at the helm. “The USARacing Pro Cup Series is a great series and I’m very appreciative of the time we’ve spent there, but as a company, we feel that advancing our platform to the ARCA Racing Series in 2011 just seems right,” said John Gibson. “The transition will not be easy. We’ve decided to sell the USAR cars to allow another team or driver to add some good race cars to their fleet. Once we’ve crossed that project off, we’ll focus on looking at some ARCA cars to buy. We’re going to ease ourselves into the series. We’re not planning to race until mid-season or near the end, but it’s going allow us some time to make sure we do everything right and even allow me to do some coaching or other racing-related things on the USAR side if need be.” Gibson also stressed that his limited schedule in ARCA this year will be dependent on the team’s sponsorship dollars. We’re looking forward to the five races and building towards an even stronger schedule in 2012.” (Ryan Wilson Motorsports PR) (03-01-11)
