  • Venturini Motorsports to enter Toledo with Ruston and Stancill UPDATE:  Venturini Motorsports will compete at Toledo Speedway on May 15th with two new drivers.  19 year-old Kenzie Ruston will drive Venturini's No. 25 entry while John Stancill will be behind the wheel of Venturini's No. 55 entry. Ruston competed in her first season of Super Late Models in 2010 while Stancil is a veteran of the Pro All Stars Series. (04-27-11)
    UPDATE: 19-Year old Kenzie Ruston has her immediate career sights set on the ARCA Racing Series. The El Reno, Oklahoma native recently signed with Venturini Motorsports and will make her ARCA Racing Series debut at the Menards 200 at Toledo Speedway on May 15th. Ruston, who currently competes in the PASS South Super Late Model Series, will compete in 5 short-track events under the Venturini banner during the 2011 season in preparation for full season effort in 2012. "It's very humbling to have a team like Venturini Motorsports show interest in the progression of my racing career.  I’m really excited to have the opportunity to team up with an organization of their caliper and track record,” says Ruston.  “We’re going to use 2011 to get our feet wet in the ARCA Series so we can build a solid foundation for 2012.  I’m expecting good things and can’t wait to get behind the wheel at Toledo.” Kenzie’s 2011 ARCA Racing Schedule will include Toledo, Winchester, Berlin, Lucas Oil Raceway and Madison. “Kenzie is extremely determined and focused to succeed.  She’s got a heck of a lot of talent as we saw last week during her first test.  I’m excited to have her apart of our team and expect good things as she progresses through the program”, says Billy Venturini.   • Cunningham Motorsports still seeking funded drivers for 2011: Cunningham Motorsports is "looking for the next young talent," says team co-owner Kerry Scherer. "With the imminent departure of Dakoda Armstrong to the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series to further his development with Penske Racing, we find ourselves with open seats and no drivers," Scherer said.   • Brennan Poole making ARCA debut at Salem with Venturini: 20 year-old Brennan Poole will make his ARCA Racing series debut at Salem Speedway driving the No. 55 Chevrolet for Venturini Motorsports. Poole has spent the last two seasons competing in UARA competition with six wins to his credit. (04-21-11)
  • Milka Duno full time with Sheltra Motorsports: Sheltra Motorsports has signed Milka Duno to run the full 2011 ARCA Racing Series season. The 2010 championship-winning team will aim to defend their title in 2011 while making history with the first female driver to win a major motorsports championship. Duno, a Venezuela native, will also look to pilot her orange-and-blue No. 63 CITGO SUPERGARD car to ARCA Racing Series Rookie of the Year honors in 2011.  "I'm really very happy that this all came together and I look forward to competing with Sheltra Motorsports for the full 2011 ARCA Racing Series season," said Duno.   • Chris Buescher hoping to run full time this season: Some believe that [Chris] Buescher is a young driver with championship potential. Buescher says that he'll still need some help if he and his Roush Fenway Racing development team are to enter all 19 races.  "We'd like to be able to run a full year in ARCA," he said. "Obviously, we're working for sponsorship and financial backing like everyone else. David Ragan Ford and David Ragan have been helping a lot.   • Bryan Silas joins Eddie Sharp Racing: Eddie Sharp Racing announced Monday that Bryan Silas will pilot the No. 98 Vietnam Veterans of America/Rockingham Speedway Toyota Camry in Friday's 3 Amigos 250 at Talladega Superspeedway. “We are thrilled to work with Bryan at Talladega,” said team owner Eddie Sharp. “I have watched Bryan race over the past few years under the tutelage of Andy Hillenburg, and I’ve seen him develop into a really good driver.   • Empire Racing hires new crew chief: Officials from Empire Racing announced today that Howard Bixman has been named crew chief of the No. 82 Empire Racing Ford Fusion in the ARCA Racing Series. Bixman joins driver Sean Corr after guiding Grant Enfinger to a successful 2010 season. Bixman replaces former crew chief Richard Johns. (Empire Racing PR) (04-11-11)
  • Barry Fitzgerald to drive for Andy Belmont at Talladega: 57 year-old Barry Fitzgerald will drive Andy Belmont Racing's No. 14 Industrial Depot.com Ford at Talladega in a one-race deal. Fitzgerald joins Andy Belmont Racing after 20 races with Peterson Motorsports. (04-11-11)
  • Beau Slocumb loses battle with cancer: The racing community has lost one of its bravest souls as Beau Slocumb has passed after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 26. He had been working in the shop of NASCAR team Turner Motorsports before falling ill once again last Fall. Details concerning Slocumb's battle can found on his blog Speed Bumps.   • George Miedecke driving for Venturini at New Jersey: Marcos Ambrose Motorsport driver George Miedecke will be looking to get a break into the NASCAR big time on May 22, when he debuts in the ARCA Racing Series at New Jersey Motorsports Park. For his debut, Miedecke has been signed on to drive for Venturini Motorsports [and] will be sponsored by iSeek Communications. "Venturini Motorsports are the powerhouse team in ARCA competition, they have a great history and track record of developing drivers for the top tiers of NASCAR, and I plan to put their flagship number 25 machine in Victory Lane" said Miedecke.   • Win-Tron signs Talladega sponsorship: Win-Tron Racing announced that Champion Brands LLC will join the team as a primary sponsor of their No. 32 Champion Brands Toyota Camry for the ARCA Racing Series 250 at Talladega. “We’re ecstatic to be paired with Win-Tron Racing and Matt Merrell for Talladega,” said Mike Reddick, Vice President of Champion Brands LLC. “Win-Tron Racing undoubtedly is an organization that has a lot of the same standards and beliefs that we do.   • Brandon McReynolds joins Turner Motorsports for Talladega: Brandon McReynolds will drive the No. 4 Wolfpack Rentals Chevrolet in his first race for Turner Motorsports. McReynolds' effort will be led by crew chief Mark Rette, who joined Ricky Carmichael for his fourth-place result at Daytona in February.
