  • Venturini Motorsports enters six cars at Mobile: Venturini Motorsports has entered six cars for the Mobile ARCA 200 at Mobile International Speedway. Full time drivers #25 Brennan Poole and #35 Nelson Canache return, along with #15 Ryan Reed. #20 John Blankenship, #55 Erik Jones, and #66 Clint King will make their 2012 ARCA Racing Series debut with the team in the race.   • Carter 2 Motorsports looking for funded driver for Mobile; has two drivers: Carter 2 Motorsports is seeking a funded driver for its third entry for Mobile International Speedway. The team currently has #04 Larry Barford Jr. and #40 Daryl Eustace entered and hopes to bring its third entry to the track. (02-28-12)
  • Andy Belmont Racing adds Thomas Praytor for Mobile:  Thomas Praytor will make his ARCA Racing Series debut at Mobile Inernational Speedway driving the No. 5 ModSpace Ford for Andy Belmont Racing. Praytor has experience at the track in Pro Late Model competition. (02-28-12)
  • Cars withdrawn from Daytona field:  Two entries were withdrawn from the Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 at Daytona after qualifying.  Peterson Motorsports (#06) and Brad Smith Motorsports (#26) both withdrew its entries allowing Bobby Gerhart and Larry Barford Jr. to race. The No. 06 Peterson Motorsports entry was withdrawn due to an oil leak that could not stopped without pulling the car's motor. (02-28-12)
  • Chase Elliott to make ARCA debut at Mobile; four other races in 2012: Speed51.com has learned that Chase Elliott will make his ARCA Series debut in a few weeks at Mobile International Speedway (AL). Elliott is former Super Late Model champion at Mobile and he will make it the first of his five schedule ARCA events for 2012. Elliott will also run New Jersey, Berlin, Madison, and Salem.   • Sinica Motorsports and Brian Keselowski join forces for Mobile: Sinica Motorsports announced today that Brian Keselowski will debut its #84 Chevrolet Impala at the inaugural Mobile ARCA 200 at Mobile International Speedway.  This will be a joint effort for Sinica Motorsports and Brian Keselowski Motorsports as BKM will prepare the machine for Mobile. “I love running ARCA races, especially on short tracks, and Mobile looks like a fun track,” said Keselowski.  “I feel good about getting back to drive again.” (Sinica Motorsports PR) (02-26-12)
  • Eddie Sharp Racing and Cale Gale back at Mobile:  Cale Gale will return to his hometown on Saturday, March 10 to race in the Mobile ARCA 200 at Mobile International Speedway. "Obviously, we are all very excited about having the opportunity to run at Mobile International Speedway," Gale said. "It's a track that means a lot to me. It's where I got my first stock car experience while I was growing up. It's where I watched my dad race, and where I watched all of my local heroes while I was a kid.   • Three drivers penalized for passing below yellow line:  ARCA officials penalized three drivers after the conclusion of the Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 at Daytona for illegally passing other cars below the yellow line. Brett Hudson (No. 09), Nelson Canache Jr. (No. 35) and Frank Kimmel (No. 44 Toyota) were assessed the penalty; which dropped them to 21st, 22nd, and 23rd, respectively. (ARCARacing.com) (02-20-12)

  • Jared Marks will NOT race at Daytona; WILL run practice lap:  17 year-old Jared Marks will not be qualifying or racing at Daytona and Talladega.  The ARCA Racing Series has a minimum age rule that requires drivers to be at least 18 years-old to compete on tracks over one mile in length. Marks has been allowed to make one lap in practice to gain 25 points for attempting each event in his No. 8 Tony Marks Racing prepared Dodge. (02-15-12)
  • Joey Coulter to attempt Daytona with Coutler Motorsports UPDATE Five races in 2012: Joey Coulter will attempt to make his fourth ARCA Racing Series Daytona start this season.  Coulter will pilot the No. 61 Rip It Energy Fuel Chevrolet for his family owned team. Matt Lofton will drive the team's primary car in the event. (01-31-12)
    UPDATE:  Coulter Motorsports, along with driver Joey Coulter, is pleased to announce the continuation of their partnership with Rip It Energy Fuel for the 2012 ARCA Racing Series season. For the third consecutive year, the duo will kick off the season at Daytona with Coulter behind the wheel. Coulter will pilot the No. 61 Rip It Energy Fuel Chevrolet for five races in 2012. “I am proud to represent Rip It Energy Fuel once again with Coulter Motorsports,” Coulter commented. “They have been a great partner of Coulter Motorsports and my racing career, and are a proven supporter of the ARCA Racing Series." Along with the season opener at Daytona, Coulter will vie for ARCA wins at Talladega Superspeedway (May 4), Toledo Speedway (May 20), Michigan International Speedway (June 15) and Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis (July 27).   • Paul Harraka driving for Venturini at Daytona UPDATE 2 Jaclyn North sponsorship: Paul Harraka is now listed as the driver of the No. 55 Venturini Motorsports Toyota on the Daytona entry list. John Stancill was previously listed. (01-31-12)
    UPDATE: Paulie Harraka will join Venturini Motorsports for a single-race effort in the 2012 ARCA Racing Series season opener at Daytona on February 18. "I'm excited to be competing in the ARCA race at Daytona with Venturini Motorsports," Harraka said. "Daytona international Speedway is certainly the hallowed grounds of motorsports, and I've looked at the high banks there in awe for years. To have the opportunity to compete for the first time on those high banks, and to be doing it with this team, is extremely exciting for me."     UPDATE 2: Country music artist and American Idol semi-finalist Jaclyn North is going to Daytona International Speedway! North, who wowed judges on the Fox Network's American Idol in 2010 recently teamed up with Venturini Motorsports in the ARCA Racing Series and will serve as the primary sponsor for Paulie Harraka and his no.55 Venturini Motorsports Daytona entry.   • K&K Racing returns at Daytona:  Long time ARCA car owner and competitor Mike Koch will attempt to qualify for the Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 at Daytona. Koch competed in the series full time in 2007 and has made occasional starts since. He will drive the No. 79 Karl's Plumbing Chevrolet. (02-12-12)
  • Tyler Speer to attempt Mobile UPDATE Talladega and five more?:  Tyler Speer will attempt to qualify for the Mobile International Speedway race on March 10th driving for his family owned team. Speer competed at both dirt races in 2011 driving Fast Track Racing's No. 11. (02-12-12)

  • Motorhead Racing Company to debut at Daytona with two cars:  The Mosquito Patch is teaming with Motorhead Racing Company to sponsor the No. 78 of rookie driver Aleks Gregory and the No. 76 of Daytona veteran John Ferrier to battle the famed high banks for 200 miles of bumper-to-bumper racing. "I am ecstatic for the launch of The Mosquito Patch," said company owner Ronnie Bennett. "We have been working on this product for over five years, and there is no place more exciting to debut our product than Daytona International Speedway. To be involved in professional motorsports is way beyond what we have expected for our product debut. I hope that we can continue this for years and years to come." Based out of Baton Rouge, La., The Mosquito Patch is an all-natural, deet-free mosquito bite protection patch.   • Spengler Motorsports to debut at Daytona with Matt Roberts UPDATE NO:Spengler Motorsports, owned by Dick Spengler, is expected to debut at Daytona with Matt Roberts as the team's driver. Roberts has worked as a fabricator for NASCAR Nationwide's CJM Racing and is currently with Sheltra Motorsports performing similar duties. (01-26-12)

  • Milka Duno to drive for Eddie Sharp Racing at Daytona:  Milka Duno will drive for Eddie Sharp Racing in the Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 at Daytona. She previously competed for Sheltra Motorsports last season. An official announcement is expected this week. (02-08-12)
  • Tony Marks Racing adds Leilani Münter for Daytona: Leilani Münter will be driving the first ever ocean awareness themed car at Daytona joining Tony Marks Racing in the ARCA Racing Series on February 18, 2012. The No. 12 TMR Dodge Charger will feature the Academy Award winning documentary “The Cove” which exposes the annual slaughter of thousands of dolphins in a small cove in Taiji, Japan. The documentary, which won over 70 awards globally, also exposed the undeniable connection between dolphin parks and dolphin captivity with the largest slaughter of dolphins in the world. “I am excited Leilani is with the team for Daytona and hopefully we can take this further into the future. She is a very driven person and passionate about what she believes in; what she is doing is an honorable thing- she takes risks to expose the brutal slayings of the dolphins and that is something that a lot of us would not even think about doing,” said team owner Tony Marks.   • Alex Kennedy reunites with Spraker Racing for Daytona:  Spraker Racing reached back into their history books a bit to find a driver for the ARCA race on Saturday, February 18 at Daytona. Alex Kennedy will wheel the No. 08 Ford for the team. The 20-year old driver and team raced together in 2009 where they achieved a top-10 points finish in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East. He also ran one race in 2010. Kennedy will be carrying the Dream Factory on board for Daytona. Dream Factory is a non-profit volunteer organization granting dreams to children with critical or chronic illnesses between the ages of three and 18.   • Andy Belmont Racing signs Brandon Davis; ModSpace to sponsor: Officials from ModSpace and Andy Belmont Racing jointly announced today that Huntington Beach, Calif. native Brandon Davis will join the ARCA Racing Series tour in the team's second car for the 2012 season opener, the Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 at Daytona. The 26-year-old Davis will look to strengthen an already impressive resume which includes championships in the World Challenge GT Series and, most recently, the 2011 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series at Toyota Speedway at Irwindale. "I'm extremely grateful to ModSpace and Andy Belmont Racing for the opportunity to drive at Daytona," said Davis, who will drive the No. 2 ModSpace Ford Fusion to open ARCA's 60th season. "It's Daytona, so automatically you want to go out there and do well. But this is a whole new experience for me.   • Allgaier Motorsports closes:  Allgaier Motorsports has no plans to compete in the 2012 ARCA Racing Series season after being unable to secure sponsorship for the upcoming season.  The team won the ARCA Racing Series championship in 2008 and nearly has 10 years in the series. (02-04-12)
  • Fain Skinner joining Kimmel Racing for Daytona UPDATE 2 DGM Racing:  26 year-old Live Oak, FL native Fain Skinner will join Kimmel Racing for Daytona with Mario Gosselin serving as his crew chief. He will be sponsored by American Steel Carports and Carport Empire.com.  Skinner made several starts for Go Green Racing in NASCAR Nationwide competition last year. (01-24-12)
    UPDATE: Fain Skinner may not drive for Kimmel Racing at Daytona after all. Negotiations with the team are still ongoing but Skinner plans to be at Daytona regardless of the car owner. (01-25-12)
    UPDATE 2: Fain Skinner is pleased to announce his entry in the 2012 ARCA Racing Series Slick Mist 200 at Daytona. Fain will be driving a car fielded by DGM Racing. The primary sponsorship for the car will be shared by American Steel Carports and Carport Empire.com along with associate sponsors Rimrock Flooring.com and CSBdirect.com.  “I’m very excited about the race. We have very competitive car and the very best horsepower under the hood. I know that we have a realistic shot at winning" said Skinner. Skinner will be piloting a red Ford Fusion built out of the Roush-Fenway stables. The crew chief of the entry will be Mario Gosselin, a past ARCA winner and proven champion.
