  • Maryeve Dufault to drive for Carter 2 Motorsports at Pocono: Popular Quebec native Maryeve Dufault will drive the No. 40 Carter 2 Motorsports Dodge at Pocono Raceway this weekend in her return to the ARCA Racing Series. Dufault competed in the series last season, racing in fourteen events for Tony Marks Racing. Sponsorship information will be announced by the team later this week. (07-31-12)
  • Engine issues prevent Clay Rogers from racing at Lucas Oil:  Engine issues during qualifiyng prevented Clay Rogers from racing in the Messina Wildlife Animal Stopper 200 at Lucas Oil Raceway last night.  Rogers posted the following message on his Facebook account. "Unfortunately due to a motor issue during qualifying, we weren't able to race tonight. Looking forward to getting back to the track soon!" (07-28-12)
  • Frank Kimmel II joins Team BCR Racing for limited schedule: Team BCR and Frank Kimmel II announced today that they will join each other for a limited schedule in the ARCA Racing Series. The first race on their agenda is the Kentuckiana Ford Dealers Fall Classic at Salem Speedway on September 15th. “I am really excited to join Team BCR for the Salem race this fall and having Howard Bixman as my crew chief. Last year we got robbed a top 3 finish so this year we are going back for some revenge" said Frank Kimmel. “I've known the Kimmel family for years and they all have racing in their blood,” says Howard Bixman. “This will be a great opportunity to work with Frank in his first ARCA race of the 2012 season. Frank has plenty of talent and I know that he is more than capable of having a solid finish with the #09 Ford Fusion at Salem.” Marketing partners and Kimmel's schedule will be announced at a later date.   • Tom Hessert returns at Lucas Oil with Federated Auto Parts sponsorship: Tom Hessert will return to the ARCA Racing Series after missing last Saturday's race at Chicagoland Speedway. “I’m ready for this weekend,” said Hessert. “I always enjoy some good short track racing. In ARCA, the competition is always fierce and you can never count anything or anyone out until the end. Overall, the short tracks have been our strengths this season for the No. 52 Federated Auto Parts Chevrolet, so I’m hoping we can go to Lucas Oil Raceway and improve on what we delivered there last year.” An extra incentive for Hessert this weekend is the presence of his marketing partner Federated Auto Parts, whose Federated Car Care division will serve as the presenting sponsor for Friday night’s rumble.   • Darren Hagen joins Carter 2 Motorsports for Lucas Oil Speedway UPDATE: Three cars?: Sprint and Midget car driver Darren Hagen is currently listed as the driver of the No. 40 Carter 2 Motorsports Dodge for Friday's ARCA event at Lucas Oil Raceway. Hagen made two starts in the series last year for Venturini Motorsports with a career high of 12th at DuQuoin (07-23-12)

    OFFICIAL: Darren Hagen, who won the 2010 and 2011 USAC National Midget Series Pavement Championships, will compete in this Friday's ARCA Stock Car Series event at Lucas Oil Raceway. Darren will be driving the Al & Diane's Red Onion Lounge #40 Dodge Charger for Carter 2 Motorsports, with Nick Tucker serving as his crew chief.   • Venturini Motorsports and Brennan Poole add sponsorship for Lucas Oil: Venturini Motorsports has teamed up with Buddy Jewell, Diamond Dust Records and Music Row Nashville’s So Good! Entertainment for an appearance at Lucas Oil Raceway on Friday, July 27th. Buddy Jewell, the Grammy nominated artist best known winning the first-ever “Nashville Star” in 2003, will serve as the primary sponsor on Venturini Motorsport’s No.25 car driven by Brennan Poole.   • Mike Senica joins Fast Track Racing for remainder of season: Professional wrestler and racecar driver Mike Sencia has joined Fast Track Racing for the remainder of the 2012 ARCA Racing Series season.  Senica will compete at Lucas Oil Raceway in the No. 10 Damn Good Jerky / Bell Plantation Ford.  The Doylestown, PA driver has made two starts this season with Hixson Motorsports at Salem and New Jersey.   • Brad Cox to make ARCA debut with Spraker Racing: 18 year-old Australian Brad Coxwill make his ARCA Racing Series debut on Friday, July 27th. Cox will compete at Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis. “We have been working on this all year”, an excited Cox stated today, “and we have finally been able to make it happen. " Cox will pilot the #08 Chevrolet for Spraker Racing Enterprises.  “Jeff (Spraker) has worked very hard to help us be in a position to contest this event. We will have a great car, and with Jeff’s experience and veteran crew, we believe we will be competitive" said Cox.  Long time marketing partners 5k Logistics will take full advantage of Cox’s ARCA debut event, and will again be prominent on his race car. “We still have marketing opportunities available for this event and would be delighted to hear from both companies and individuals alike whom would like to take advantage of this amazing opportunity”.   • Brian Keselowski running at Lucas Oil Speedway this weekend?: It appears that Brian Keselowski may attempt this weekend's race at Lucas Oil Speedway with his own team. Western Reserve Asphalt out of Solon, Ohio would sponsor the entry with fan support if Keselowski prepares his family owned car in time for the event. (07-23-12)
  • Win-Tron Racing not racing at Chicagoland; Aleks Gregory out: Sources have reported that Win-Tron Racing will not race at Chicagoland Speedway and will start and park with Bradley Riethmeyer behind the wheel. Aleks Gregory was announced as the driver for the event in May, but stated on Twitter that "numerous issues" kept him from driving for the team. Gregory's future with the team does not look promising, as he is expected to join Mark Gibson Racing for Pocono Raceway on August 2nd.   • Tom Hessert; Ken Schrader Racing withdraw from Chicagoland: Tom Hessert and Ken Schrader Racing have withdrawn their entry from the Ansell ActivArmr 150 at Chicagoland Speedway. The team did not have sponsorship for the full season and likely withdrew due sponsorship issues. (07-22-12)
  • Kimmel Racing; Will Kimmel to run full race at Chicagoland: AccucareTX and Tilted Kilt who have agreed to join Kimmel Racing for the 12th race of the 2012 season. After having to start and park last weekend at Iowa Speedway, Kimmel Racing will return to full force and look to improve on their stout fifth place run at New Jersey Motorsports Park at the beginning of the month. “Words can’t describe the feeling knowing that we’re actually going to be able to race this weekend because of the support of AccucareTX and Tilted Kilt,” said driver Will Kimmel. “We’ve experience our fair share of ups and downs this season – but none of that matters going into the weekend because our focus is solely on going out there and showing what our team is capable of not only for ourselves but for those who believe in us too.” (Kimmel Racing PR) (07-22-12)
  • Impending lawsuits against Andy Belmont Racing?:  Rumors are circulating that Andy Belmont Racing may be facing multiple lawsuits after suspending operations in May. Mikey Kile, who signed a contract to drive a full season, is allegedly suing the team for breach of contract. John Ferrier, who has driven for the team in the past, is also allegedly suing the team for selling one of his cars that Ferrier was storing at Belmont's shop. Emails to Mikey Kile's management team and to Ferrier were not returned. (07-17-12)
  • Tim Andrews driving for NDS Motorsports at Chicagoland UPDATE:  Tim Andrews is rumored to be driving for NDS Motorsports at Chicagoland. NDS Motorsports has fielded entries for Andrew Ranger in the ARCA Racing Series in prior events. (06-28-12)

  • Cunningham Motorsports signs Austin Wayne Self for five races in 2013:  Cunningham Motorsports has signed Austin Wayne Self of Austin, Texas to drive in at least five ARCA Racing Series short track races during the 2013 season. The 16-year-old development driver will team with veteran crew chief Paul Andrews in the No. 22 Dodge. "We are very excited to have Austin joining our team next season," said Cunningham Motorsports co-owner Kerry Scherer. "He is a very talented and impactful driver with a great fan base. We are confident that he will be an asset to our organization both on and off the track." Behind the wheel since the age of four, Self has been competing this year in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series, driving the No. 07 Sport Clips/Big Red Chevrolet Impala.   • Venturini Motorsports; Brennan Poole sign Iowa sponsorship:  Brennan Poole will drive a car sponsored by Iowa-based Mudd Advertising in tonight's Prairie Meadows 200 at Iowa Speedway. Poole's No. 25 entry will feature The Ad Man, a book written by Jim Mudd Sr. and Clifton Lambreth. Mudd Advertising - a family-run business since 1981 - strives to support young adults, like Poole, in reaching their lifelong dreams.   • Win-Tron Racing and Mason Mingus add Iowa sponsorship: Win-Tron Racing announced this week that Iowa One Call will join the team as the primary sponsor of the No. 32 Chevrolet driven by Mason Mingus for tonight's Prairie Meadows 200 at Iowa Speedway. Iowa One Call, the state's underground facilities damage prevention system, provides contractors, homeowners, and others who may be planning projects that will entail excavating, digging or trenching with a single toll-free number to call for locating and marking underground facilities.   • Matt Crafton returning at Lucas Oil Raceway with ThorSport:  NASCAR Camping World Truck Series veteran Matt Crafton has already filed an entry [for the Messina Wildlife Animal Stopper 200 at Lucas Oil Raceway], as has his ThorSport Racing teammate and nine-time ARCA champion Frank Kimmel.   • Sharp-Tallman Racing to debut at Iowa? UPDATE:  Eddie Sharp Racing and David Tallman are rumored to be joining forces to field an entry in select races this season beginning at Iowa Speedway. Mason Mitchell would be the driver at Iowa and Jore Heilbrun would run the remaining events. (06-29-12)
    UPDATE: Mason Mitchell, an 18-year-old from West Des Moines, Iowa, will join Eddie Sharp Racing as a developmental driver in the ARCA Racing Series. Mitchell will make select starts this season, and plans to make his debut in the Prairie Meadows 200 at Iowa Speedway this Friday. "It's been my dream since I was a little kid to make it to big-time stock car racing," said Mitchell, who has over 50 late model races under his belt. "Joining a team the caliber of ESR is a dream come true. I want to thank my dad and our great sponsor J&S AG Services for making this a reality." The team's plans are to run Mitchell in several test sessions and a handful of ARCA Racing Series events this season including Friday at Iowa, July 27 at Indianapolis, and the October 19 season finale at Kansas to get his feet wet leading into a full-time ARCA effort for 2013.   • CGH Motorsports penalized after New Jersey: ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards officials have announced two penalties to the CGH Motorsports team. CGH Motorsports has been fined $250 and placed on indefinite probation as it relates to violation of ARCA Rule Book page 4, Section 2, Item A-9, which defines the ARCA policy relating to unapproved electronic image/video capture during an ARCA Racing Series race event. In addition, CGS Motorsports crew chief Kevin Reed has been fined $250 and placed on probation through December 31, 2012, for violation of ARCA Rule Book page 6, Section 3, Item 3, which references conduct by team members toward ARCA officials.   • AJ Henriksen quits during the race at New Jersey? UPDATE:  Rumors are circulating that veteran driver AJ Henriksen quit during the race at New Jersey Motorsports Park. Henriksen was driving the No. 66 Venturini Motorsports entry, making his second start of the season. Venturini's public relations representative confirmed that Henriksen did not finish the race and that Chad Hackenbracht finished in their car. Hackenbracht retired earlier in the event due to mechanical issues. (07-05-12)

  • Ryan Reed to run remaining televised events:  Ryan Reed will drive for Venturini Motorsports in the remaining televised events. Those races include Iowa, Chicagoland, Lucas Oil Raceway, Pocono, and Kansas. (07-05-12)
  • Robert Bujdoso attempting Chicagoland with family owned team:  19 year-old Robert Bujdoso from Girard, OH will attempt to make his second career ARCA Racing Series start at Chicagoland Speedway on July 21st. Bujdoso will drive the No. 09     Checkered Express Ford for his family owned team. He previously finished 15th at last year's season ending Toledo Speedway driving for Andy Belmont Racing. The team plans to run two additional races later this season at Pocono and Kansas. (07-03-12)
  • New crew chief for Larry Barford Jr; Roger Carter Racing:  Larry Barford Jr. is currently working with a new crew chief.  Jeff McClure, who worked with Mikey Kile at Andy Belmont Racing, is now guiding the Maryland driver in his first full ARCA Racing Series season. (07-03-12)
