JANUARY 27, 2016 - JJ Pack is gearing up to race at Daytona International Speedway in the Lucas Oil 200 on February 13th in the ARCA Racing Series. He will be the driver for Cushman Racing in the #13 car.
JJ was able to get some seat time at the ARCA Daytona test a couple of weeks ago with Mullins Racing in their short track car, as well as being able to take a few laps in their Daytona car that features the new Ilmor motor.
JJ is ready to take on Daytona again after a devastating end to the race last year in which the car became engulfed in flames that was a result of a punctured oil line.
Cushman Racing and JJ Pack have been working extensively together to get prepared for this race, and have been working on a deal to put JJ behind the wheel for 5 races this ARCA season. JJ Pack raced with the Cushman’s for the first time in 2015 at the last race in Pocono. With very little practice and JJ’s first time being at Pocono, JJ and the Cushman’s were able to qualify 18th, and able to make their way all the way up to 13th during the race. After the pit stop, JJ had to work his way back from the tail of the field to finish 19th.
The Cushman’s and JJ realized they worked great together and wanted to come up with a way to attend more races together in 2016. After the Pocono race, JJ stated “after racing with the Cushman’s, it really took me back to when I first started racing and realizing how much fun racing can be again.” JJ Pack and the entire crew is looking forward to Daytona and the 2016 racing season with Cushman Racing and is very thankful for this opportunity.
