Asheboro, N.C. (October 31, 2014) – Carter 2 Motorsports has signed former NASCAR Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series standout Bobby Hamilton Jr. to drive the No. 97 Nitroforce Titan 1000 Dodge in February.
“He is a great talent,” team owner Roger Carter said of Hamilton Jr. “Our deal with him fell apart last season, but now that we have a great sponsor like Nitroforce Industries that is new to the sport, we believe this provides a great opportunity for Bobby (Hamilton Jr.) to run up front with us at Daytona.
Hamilton Jr. was slated to drive a full season for Carter 2 Motorsports before negotiations fell apart early in the 2014 ARCA Racing Series season.
Hamilton is no stranger to the ARCA Racing Series, making 8 career starts during the 1998 and 1999 seasons. He does hold one career pole, which came at the Atlanta Motor Speedway in 1998, in addition to accumulating 4 Top-5 finishes in five starts during the season.
Outside of ARCA competition, Hamilton Jr. is better known for his career in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, winning five times in 253 career starts. He also accumulated 30 Top-5’s, 63 Top-10’s, and four pole awards.
In addition to his stellar NASCAR Nationwide Series career, he has also made numerous starts in NASCAR’s other top tier series.
In addition to Hamilton Jr. returning to ARCA competition, Carter 2 Motorsports welcomes a new sponsor to the sport, Nitroforce Industries, and their state of the art weight-lifting machine, the Titan 1000.
