Dallas, NC (May 24, 2023) – Caleb Costner and the Costner Weaver Motorsports team return to the ARCA Menards Series after showcasing an impressive top ten run at Talladega last month. In the closing laps, Costner’s #93 Chevrolet suffered a blown right front tire resulting in a hard impact into the turns 3-4 wall. The damage was significant to the team’s only racecar.

“After the crash we weren’t sure at all if we’d even be able to make it to Charlotte with our car. Yes, this will be the same car that we wrecked at Talladega. It’s our only car and that’s the great story about our team and perseverance. As of now, we have no manufacturer alliance or big-time sponsor helping pay the bills. We are a small, grassroots team giving it everything we have to race on the big stage. So, for us to put all our resources together and get our car fixed and prepared for Charlotte tells us and should show the racing community that we mean business when we show up to the track.” Costner reflected.
The race at Charlotte will be a special one for Costner, growing up a mere 30 minutes from the track.
“When I think of Charlotte Motor Speedway, I think of my family and all the memories I’ve made here together with them, this track is home to me. Charlotte has been a top priority for our team from the start to race at. To be able to come here and race is another dream come true.”
The Lickety Lew’s/Factory Canopies Chevrolet will sport a patriotic paint scheme for the Memorial Day weekend race.
“Even more exciting we’ll be running a special patriotic throwback scheme to honor our heroes and Kevin Harvick for this race. So, it’ll be a special weekend all the way around, we’re looking forward to it!” said Costner.
The General Tire 150 at Charlotte Motor Speedway can be watched on Fox Sports 1 (FS1) at 6pm ET and listened to on MRN/SiriusXM (XM channel 391/online channel 981) and on ARCARacing.com on Friday, May 26.
