Seagrove, N.C (December 13, 2014) – Carter 2 Motorsports would like to proudly announce it will test 14 drivers at the Daytona International Speedway on December 19th and 20th.
“We are very excited about how many great talents are testing with us,” team owner Roger Carter said about the test. “Our driver lineup makes up almost 25 percent of the total drivers participating, which is huge for our team and the series.”
Carter 2 Motorsports boasts a very diverse driver lineup for the Daytona test, with current and former NASCAR Sprint Cup drivers, Donnie Neuenberger and Bobby Hamilton Jr., youngsters Cody Lane and Cassie Gannis, series veterans Emerson Newton-John and Roger Carter, and newcomers Gregg Hutto Jr. and Mark Montgomery, in addition to several others.
Donnie Neuenberger (Edgewater, Md.), a frequent participant in ARCA, made his most recent start at the Talladega Superspeedway in May. He piloted the #40 Freedom Transport Dodge to a 30th place finish, after experiencing a minor issue at the start of the race. His career best finish is 18th in 2012 at Talladega. He will drive the #40 Toyota in the season opener.
Bobby Hamilton Jr. (Nashville, Tenn.) is no stranger to the ARCA Racing Series, making eight career starts throughout 1998 and 1999. He does hold one pole start, coming at the Atlanta Motor Speedway in 1998 and four Top-5 finishes in five starts during that season. Hamilton Jr. will pilot the #97 Nitroforce Industries/Titan 1000 Dodge in the season opener.
Josh Reeves (Bassett, Va.) will test with Carter 2 Motorsports for the second consecutive year, after being named the team’s 2015 Driver Development Program driver. Reeves, who has made one career start in the ARCA Racing Series, will look to gain more experience on the high banks of Daytona.
Tommy Barrett Jr., a NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour phenom, will also join the team for this year’s test. Barrett, coming off one of his most successful years in racing, picked up his first career win at the Bristol Motor Speedway this season, recording three Top-5’s, six Top 10’s, and one pole award. Currently, he is working towards running the season opener and multiple races throughout the 2015 season with Carter 2 Motorsports.
Also testing with the team will be Cassie Gannis, Emerson Newton-John, Mark Meunier, Jami Wiemer, Cody Lane, Roger Carter, Gregg Hutto Jr., Mark Montgomery , and Ray Ciccarelli.
