Down But Not Out, Christian Eckes Ready for Redemption at Lucas Oil Raceway

Concord, North Carolina (July 20, 2016) – The talented 15-year old, Christian Eckes, will make his fourth and final ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards season start with Venturini Motorsports this weekend in the Sioux Chief PowerPEX® 200 presented by Jive at Lucas Oil Raceway.

Christian EckesDespite showing speed and a level of maturity behind the wheel far beyond his age, Eckes has been slowed during his last two outings due to issues outside his control. After posting a nearly flawless top-10 (eighth position) finish at Nashville in his ARCA Series debut, Eckes has been stricken with mechanical issues in back-to-back events.

Out qualifying his Venturini Motorsports’ teammates in two of his first three career series starts (Nashville and Iowa), Eckes’ results have been less than satisfying. Brake and gear issues hurt his chances last month at Madison Int’l Speedway finishing 14th and just two weeks ago faulty plug wires abandoned his outside pole position qualifying effort – contributing to an 11th place finish.

“I’m hoping we’ve used up all of our bad luck and can get back to showing our true potential and fight for a win this weekend,” said Eckes. “It’s been disappointing, we’ve been really good each time out, but just can’t catch a break.”

Eckes will have one final shot Friday night to erase the disappointment of the last couple of races.

“We’re coming to Indy this week well-prepared. My crew chief Jeff McClure and the entire Venturini group have prepared a great car for Friday’s race. The track (Lucas Oil Raceway) will be slick and the temps will be hot so nothing will come easy – the only thing I know for certain is I’m ready to turn things around and give it my best effort,” added Eckes.
