Mooresville, N.C. – (July 26, 2016) – Clayton Weatherman, 17 year old brother of Kyle Weatherman will take his turn behind the wheel of the No. 22, when the ARCA Racing Series returns for their 29th visit to Berlin Raceway in Marne, Michigan.  Weatherman will make his fifth Series start…his first with Cunningham Motorsports.  His career-best ARCA Series finish is an eighth place finish at Salem Speedway in his Series’ debut in April, 2015.

As he prepares to make his second 2016 ARCA start, Weatherman commented, “I have never been so excited to race for a team as I am for Cunningham Motorsports!  Ever since my brother (Kyle) raced for them I have always wanted to race at least one race for them.  Any time I went to the race track last year, I knew Kyle had a chance to win.  And now, I am getting that chance!”

Clayton, the younger brother of former Cunningham Motorsports 2015 Rookie of the Year, Kyle Weatherman, also competed at Winchester Speedway and Lucas Oil Raceway in 2015.  His lone start in 2016 was at Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville.  He has accumulated over 140 career victories while competing in the USLCI Legends Car Series and the IMCA Dirt Modified Series.  Weatherman, who will be guided by Paul Andrews, 1992 NASCAR championship crew chief for Alan Kulwicki, is the seventh driver piloting the No. 22 during the 2016 season.

The Wentzville, Missouri native added, “Cunningham have always prepared great cars and to get the opportunity to work with Paul Andrews, as my crew chief, is amazing.  I can’t thank my dad, Briggs Cunningham, Kerry (Scherer) and Paul enough for giving this chance to fulfill my wish to race for them!”

Weatherman’s teammate will be current Series point leader, Chase Briscoe, who has driven his Big Tine No. 77 Ford to 3 wins, 9 top-5 finishes during the 2016 season.  Both of the rookies will see the .4-mile short track for the first time when they hit the track for practice from 2:30-3:15 EST.  Final practice is scheduled for 3:45-4:15, followed by Menards Pole Qualifying at 6:00.  The green flag will drop at 9:09.  All on-track activities can be followed on
