Concord, North Carolina (June 7, 2016) – Dalton Sargeant looks to earn his first ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards victory this weekend in the 35th running of the Corrigan Oil 200 at Michigan International Speedway (MIS) on Friday, June 10.

The recent high school graduate carries a 3.6 race finishing average going into Friday’s Michigan race.

The ARCA Series return to Brooklyn, Michigan and the Irish Hills will mark Sergeants’ first career start on the ultra-fast, two-mile, D-shaped paved oval.

Sargeant, who participated in ARCA’s MIS open test last month, was third fastest out of all ARCA testers.

“Michigan is really fast and definitely one of the tracks I’ve been looking forward to,” says Sargeant. “It’s a fun and technical track with a lot of speed. This will be my first race at Michigan but I still have high expectations for the No. 55 Venturini Motorsports Toyota Camry powered by Windows 10.

This 55 team continues to make gains every week and I think we’re riding a little bit of momentum right now. I feel like we’ll be even better when we go back this week.”

Chasing his first win, Sargeant knows the importance of gaining experience and is confident his time will come.

“Our time is coming,” added Sargeant. “We’ve been really close this year. Every race it seems we’re knocking on the door of our first win. The 55 team shows up every week and continues to get better. Hopefully I’m getting better too. It’s been a great experience and I’m learning a ton from Billy Venturini every time I strap into the seat.”

Sargeant, who signed with VMS during the off-season to compete in fifteen races this season, is one-third through his ARCA Series schedule. Despite missing out on the first two ARCA Series events, Sargeant occupies the eighth spot in the driver championship point standings and sits second in the rookie of the year chase.
