Concord, NC (July 20, 2015) – After turning in another solid performance Brandon Jones appeared to be headed for his fifth ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards top-5 of the season – but a late race spin in the closing laps of Friday’s #ThisIsMySpeedway150 at Iowa Speedway erased his chances resulting in a disappointing 11th place finish.
Jones, who qualified third, led 31-laps and maintained a top-5 running position nearly the entire night.
“It was fun to run up front with our Ansell-Menards Toyota Camry tonight at Iowa Speedway,” said Jones. “We had high hopes for a great finish, so to come home 11th is a little disappointing. Our car got very loose at the end of the race, which resulted in a spin with just a handful of laps to go. Fortunately, we had one last quick caution after our spin and we were able to get back on the lead lap and pick up a few more positions. Overall, we had a good day. We got a little stronger as a team, and we’re looking forward to getting to Lucas Oil Raceway Park next Friday.”
Jones’ 11th place finish ended his nine race consecutive top-10 streak which dated back to July-2014 – when the 18-year splashed onto the ARCA Racing scene winning back-to-back races at Winchester Speedway and Lucas Oil Raceway.
Jones returns to action this week when the ARCA Series returns to Lucas Oil Raceway for the Sioux Chief PowerPEX 200 presented by Federated Car Care.
