Concord, North Carolina (July 26, 2018) – Leilani Münter is set to make her return to the driver’s seat when the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards resumes on Friday, July 27 at Pocono Raceway for the running of the MODSPACE 150.
Leilani, a well-known personality on the ARCA circuit, will make her seventh start of the season and second career start at Pocono, behind the wheel of her now familiar bright green No.20 VEGANSTRONG.com machine.
Enjoying the benefits sponsorship support from A Well-Fed World and TRYVEG.com and the seat time that goes along with it, Leilani has notched two top-10 finishes on the season, including a career best fifth-place starting spot and eighth-place finish back in February during ARCA’s season opening event at Daytona International Speedway. She also finished ninth in her maiden voyage at Michigan International Speedway.
“I’m excited to return to Pocono this week, I learned a lot during my first race there earlier in the year,” said Leilani. “It’s been a great experience to get the opportunity to learn new racetracks this year. Leilani, a native of Rochester, MN, has made 16-career series starts since 2010. After Pocono she’ll end her season effort at Kansas Speedway on October 19.
A biology graduate turned race car driver and environmentalist, Leilani, was named the No. 1 Eco Athlete in the World by Discovery’s Green Planet, and Sports Illustrated once named her one of the top ten female race car drivers in the world. An advocate for plant-based diets, solar power and animal rights, Leilani has made a career racing for a cause. Her past race cars have included messages regarding renewable energy and clean energy legislation as well as award-winning documentaries The Cove and Blackfish.
The ModSpace 150 at Pocono Raceway is scheduled for Friday, July 27. ARCA Racing Series teams will practice for 90 minutes starting at 9 am ET; General Tire Pole Qualifying is slated for 1 pm ET, and the 60-lap/150-mile race will go green shortly after 4 pm ET. Fox Sports 1 will televise the race live; ARCARacing.com will have live timing, scoring, and track updates throughout each on-track session for registered users.
