First Time Racing on Dirt:  This Sunday’s Central Illinois 100 presented by Jive marks Matt Kurzejewski’s first attempt on dirt.  Although the Mansfield, Pennsylvania native is unfamiliar with dirt, his Ken Schrader Racing team brings a wealth of knowledge from dirt tracks across the country.

On Racing Against His Car Owner Ken Schrader: Car Owner Ken Schrader will be racing the No.22 car for Cunningham Motorsports this weekend.  Schrader has had success on the dirt tracks in the ARCA Racing Series Presented by Menards. “I’m excited to race against Schrader this weekend.  He has helped me a ton so far this year not only becoming a better racecar driver but understanding the business more.  I joke that I hope his feelings don’t get hurt when I outrun him.”

This Week’s Toyota:  The No.52 Ansell-Menards team will unload chassis number 309 this Friday at the Illinois State Fairgrounds.  Kurzejewski last piloted this chassis to a top-3 finish at Berlin Raceway.

This Week’s Schedule: On-track action will begin with a lone practice session on August 21 from 9 – 10 a.m. CST. Menards Pole Qualifying Presented by Ansell is scheduled for 11:15 a.m.  The 100 starts at 1:30 p.m.

Matt Kurzejewski on racing dirt for the first time:
“This should be an experience.  When people find out I’m from Pennsylvania the first thing they typically ask is ‘Have you ever raced dirt?’  When I answer no, they seemed surprised.”

“Dirt racing is huge where I come from, I’m only a short drive from Williams Grove and other famed dirt tracks but never attempted it.  I’m hoping to lean on Schrader who is driving the 22 car this week for some advice and help.  I hear he’s pretty good on dirt.”
