Matt Tifft Set for First of Four ARCA Races with Venturini Motorsports

Concord, North Carolina (June 8, 2016) – Matt Tifft returns to ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards action for the first of four scheduled races with Venturini Motorsports (VMS) this weekend in the Corrigan Oil 200 at Michigan International Speedway on Friday, June 10.

Matt Tifft ARCA RacingTifft will make his first ARCA start of the season driving VMS’s No.15 Cometic Gasket Toyota and his first ever career start on Michigan’s 2-mile oval. Veteran crew chief Jeff McClure will quarterback the team’s efforts.

“I’m excited to get back into the ARCA car this weekend,” said Tifft. “The guys at Venturini Motorsports have a top notch program going on and they perform really well, especially on the big tracks like Michigan. Enfinger (Grant) stepped in and tested my car last month at the open test and really got it dialed in for the weekend. I’m looking forward to a fun weekend, we should be solid.”

In addition to racing Michigan with VMS, Tifft is scheduled to compete next month at Winchester Speedway and at Kentucky Speedway and Kansas Speedway at the end of the season.

Tifft, also competing partial race schedules with Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) in the NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) and with Red Horse Racing in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS), recently earned his first career NASCAR pole position at Talladega Superspeedway driving for JGR in the NXS.

So far this season, the 19-year old has notched two top-10’s in five XFINITY Series starts and nabbed a fifth place finish at Charlotte Motor Speedway in his most recent NCWTS start.

Corrigan Oil 200 at Michigan International Speedway Weekend Schedule
Two practice sessions get things going for this year’s Corrigan Oil 200 Thursday afternoon, June 9 from 1:00 p.m. to 1:55 p.m., followed by final practice from 2:05 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Menards Pole Qualifying presented by Ansell is scheduled for Friday raceday at 1:40 p.m. The Friday afternoon, June 10 Corrigan Oil 200 gets the green flag at approximately 5:45 p.m. The race will air live on FOX Sports 1.
