Asheboro, N.C. (November 10, 2014) – Carter 2 Motorsports has signed 14-year-old Ronnie Osmer to drive for the team in numerous races during the 2015 season.
“We are happy to have Ronnie (Osmer) onboard with us,” team owner Roger Carter said of the signing. “He is a kid who knows how to drive a race car and has raw potential. We, as a team, believe we can help take him and his skills to the next level through our driver development program.”
The Louisiana native started racing at the age of 6, where he first started racing Junior Sportsman Champ karts. He quickly turned heads as he quickly made his way to the front of each race, racing against kids that were older than him. He slowly made the transition from karts to Bandoleros, as he once again excelled immediately. After winning the INEX Young Lions Legends Louisiana State Championship, he made his way into Pro Challenge Trucks. He quickly took hold of the trucks, winning in his first race in the division. By the end of 2013, he had accumulated a 7th place finish in the Nation, 4th in the Alabama Region, 3rd in the Jacob Wallace Racing Championship Series, 4th in the Tri-State Challenge and was runner-up for Rookie of the Year honors. Throughout 2014, Osmer has jumped into Pro Late Models, once again competing at a high level immediately. Recently, he snagged Rookie of the Year honors in the Pro Late Model series in which he competes.
Although he has excelled on-track, he has helped bring awareness to multiple charities while on track. Ronnie supports Ride to Give, STARC, Brogan’s Battle, in addition to several local charities.
Carter 2 Motorsports plans to field a brand new race car for Osmer, including the new composite body and the new Ilmor engine package. He is tentatively scheduled to make his season debut at the Mobile International Speedway, when the ARCA Racing Series makes its annual stop there in late March.
