Tom Hessert, William Byron and Mark Thompson Testing at Daytona in Preparation for ARCA’s Season Opener

JANUARY 14, 2016 (CONCORD, NC) – In preparation for the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards season opener Venturini Motorsports (VMS) will travel south this weekend to participate in ARCA’s open test session (January 15-16) at Daytona International Speedway.

Veteran drivers Tom Hessert and Mark Thompson will join last season’s NASCAR K&N Pro East Champion, William Byron, for the two-day test.

Hessert, the latest addition to VMS’s ARCA team, will pilot the No.25 Toyota for the full ARCA Season while Thompson and Byron are currently focused on ARCA’s premier event at Daytona.

In 2015, Byron competed with VMS at two events scoring an ARCA career best second place finish at Lucas Oil Raceway. Byron signed with Kyle Busch Motorsports during the off-season and will pilot the No.4 Toyota Tundra for a full season effort in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. Thompson, a two-time winner on the circuit, started his ARCA career in 1991 has made 8 appearances (95 career starts) with VMS earning a best second place finish at Daytona in 2010.

ARCA’s premier season event – the Lucas Oil 200 will kick off the 64th season at Daytona on February 13th. The race will be the prelude for the NASCAR Sprint Unlimited, and kicks off Speedweeks 2016.
