Elizabethtown, PA (January 15, 2018) – Tony Mrakovich has teamed up with Andy Hillenburg and Fast Track Racing as well as sponsor Extreme Energy Solutions (EES) to run the ARCA Lucas Oil 200 Driven by General Tire at the Daytona International Speedway. The partnerships represent a couple of reunions as team, driver and sponsor look forward to a successful outing on the two-and-a-half mile super speedway.
Mrakovich, a native of Elizabethtown, PA, made his stock car debut in April 2017 after spending the early years of his career competing in Karting and Legends throughout the Mid-Atlantic. He finished eighth in his first ARCA start at Nashville and followed it up with an impressive ninth at Salem. A few weeks later, Mrakovich joined Fast Track Racing and finished 15th at Pocono Raceway after an untimely caution stifled their chances of another top-10. While the result was not an accurate representation of the car’s speed, the team’s performance throughout the entire weekend made the 19-year old excited for another chance to capitalize on the potential displayed last June.
“Andy and team gave me a car that I could compete with last year at Pocono and I can’t wait to get behind the wheel of one of their machines again this February” said Mrakovich in between ARCA open testing sessions at Daytona. “The new composite bodies will certainly mean these cars will drive differently and there will be a lot of learning to do in a short time. Working with an experienced team like Fast Track gives me all the confidence I need to know that we will adapt to the changes and run competitively.”
Car owner Andy Hillenburg shared his driver’s enthusiasm. “What Tony was able to do at Pocono in his first start on a super speedway was impressive. He provided great feedback to the team and came home with a solid finish. I’m excited to see what he will do at Daytona”.
This is not the first time Tony represented EES either. Last October, he piloted one of the company’s four Sportsman Modified cars during 2017 Eastern States weekend at the Orange County Fair Speedway. The Sparta, New Jersey company has several product lines including the Smart Emissions Reducer, Extreme Multi-Purpose Cleaner and Extreme Extra Fuel Treatments, which support EES’s mission of providing environmental and economic sustainability that redefines incremental savings.
EES CEO, Samuel K. Burlum believes partnering with Tony in NASCAR provides his company with incredible growth opportunities. “The amount of potential partners involved in the sport including OEMs and dealerships in the auto industry plus the opportunity to be represented by a driver with Tony’s talent for racing and enthusiasm for our products made this an easy decision for us” explained Burlum.
The green flag for the Lucas Oil 200 Driven by General Tire will be at 4:45PM on Saturday, February 10th and televised on FS1.
