Swaim Stands Proud Despite Part Failure

In the Lira Motorsport No. 59, Travis Swaim’s weekend in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards came to an abrupt halt when a rear end part failure ended his weekend.

Despite not finishing the race, Swaim was impressed with the performance of the team throughout the entire weekend. He qualified in the top 10 and was among the fastest in practice.

“I was really happy with the way things were going this weekend. The car was really fast, so we were looking for a great finish in the end,” Swaim said.

However, fate wouldn’t fall their way when a rear end part failed which caused Swaim to lose control of the steering in the car, forcing him to the inside wall. The team is still investigating to decipher what exactly caused the failure in the No. 59 MOMO Motorsport Ford.

“Not finishing the race isn’t what anybody is looking for when they go to the track, but I’m still very happy with the run that we did have,” Swaim said. “We were fast in practice and qualified in the top-10. The guys worked extremely hard to bring me a fast car, and I hate that this had to end the efforts for them, but all-in-all I’m happy with the performance of the team.”

Swaim wishes he could have had a better finish for his sponsors MOMO Motorsport, Safecraft Safety Equipment, and NexGenFuel, but is thankful for the opportunity he had to get back behind the wheel of an ARCA Racing Series car.

“Thanks to Carlos and my team for letting me get behind the wheel and giving me a fast car this weekend despite not finishing the race.”
