This Week’s Holmes ll Excavation / Memorial Day Tribute to Troops Chevrolet at Charlotte Motor Speedway … Bret Holmes will pilot Chassis No. 206 in the General Tire 150 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. This Bret Holmes Racing-prepared Chevrolet SS is brand new and will see its first competitive laps during practice on Thursday.

Charlotte Nuggets … Holmes has one previous start at the 1.5-mile speedway in the ARCA Menards Series where he started 12th and finished seventh.

To the Point … Holmes currently sits third in the ARCA Menards Series driver championship point standings. The 22-year-old driver trails the leader by 35 points heading into this week’s race at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Thank You, Troops … The No. 23 team sends a special thank you to all past and present military servicemen and women for their service, including Specialist Rondeau and Private Moncher. Specialist Rondeau served in the United States Army for six years, and Army PFC Moncher served during the Korean War, both family members of the BHR team.

Review Mirror: Toledo Speedway … Holmes started the scheduled 200-lap affair from the fifth position and reported a tight-handling condition in the opening laps. The 22-year-old driver visited pit road under caution on lap 78 for four fresh tires, fuel and a tire pressure adjustment. Holmes restarted seventh on lap 83 and by lap 90, was scored in the fourth position. After a quick rain shower passed, the Munford, Ala., native took the green flag but slipped to seventh on the restart. A few laps later, heavier rain began to fall. ARCA Menards Series officials were forced to call the race complete on lap 152. Holmes was credited with a seventh-place result.

With six races complete so far this season, how do you feel about your team’s performance?

“Our team is working really hard every day. This is the best team and best cars I’ve ever had. We all have a little work to do to get where we want to be and win races. I think we’re really close. At this point in the year, I feel good about the rest of the season. We’re a consistent team.”
